Week 25 (7/22/19): Bike races, Baptisms, and Carcassonne!

Hello everybody!!!
We had the best exchange ever on the 18th, we were in Toulouse for the tour de France! And we literally popped out of the metro like, 5 minutes before they drove by, so that was cool! The speed they were traveling was honestly insane, I have no idea how they do that, but it sure was exciting!!!
On the same exchange, Soeur Ditetova and I were blessed with a really cool miracle. We were going to pass someone, but they weren't there, and our other rendez-vous had canceled. So we had nothing. We started contacting, when I said, "let's go to a park." She didn't question it, just saying that the park nearest to us was probably empty, but the one near the apartment probably had just the right amount of people for contacting. We got there, and I felt lost. This time it was soeur Ditetova's turn to catch the prompting- she said, "I want to talk to that lady over there." By the time we worked our way over there, she was leaving, but we contacted her anyways. She only spoke Spanish, but the Spanish I've heard Soeur Flora practice occasionally came out of my mouth, and we were actually able to communicate, which was really cool. Gift of tongues moment!!! She wasn't really interested, so we said goodbye, then soeur Ditetova turned around and said, "let's talk to this man," that we'd run past to get to the lady. We had the coolest contact ever, we talked for over half an hour about the book of mormon and the bible and the gathering of Israel. He really listened, and really wanted to know, he was definitely prepared. He a very open, intelligent man, so I believe his promise that he'd read the book of mormon. And we got his number and everything, so hopefully they'll start teaching him!!! Such a thrill.
We also obviously had the 3 baptisms, which was especially awesome because a nonmember came to see it. She actually came in right at the end, but we were able to show her the baptismal font and explain what happened, and the confirmations that would happen tomorrow. She asked me what someone had to do to get baptized in our church, which was really exciting to answer. She started getting integrated immediately, and came to church yesterday! And Soeur Flora and Elder Hayes taught her about the book of mormon, and she's agreed to read it, and then have a lesson with us Thursday. So we're super excited to start teaching her!
Then today, on p day, we took a train to Carcassonne, and saw the coolest castle ever! It's actually like, an entire fortified city, so that was extremely awesome. I definitely recommend visiting it to anyone who happens to go nearby. Definitely worth the time (though maybe choose to do it on a day that's not 36 degrees plus humidity... oops).
So yeah. It was a really good week! I hope all of yours are equally awesome!
Love,
Soeur Cate
